Clinical neuropsychologists are specialists who understand the cognitive, emotional and behavioural effects of brain-based conditions such as dementia, stroke, traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and psychiatric disorders. They use their understanding of the brain and cognition to perform detailed assessments of brain function to assist with the diagnosis of memory and other cognitive disorders and can provide treatment recommendations that may employ cognitive, educational, behavioural, or psychosocial methods.
