Geriatrician

Dr Caroline Chau is a geriatrician who is passionate about helping older individuals through the journey of ageing.

She is a consultant geriatrician working at St George Public Hospital where she is associated with the clinical school as a UNSW Conjoint Lecturer.

Dr Chau has a vocational focus on expediting access to aged care services in regional NSW.

She has a particular interest in managing behavioural problems in dementia patients and also in facilitating palliative care medicine in the community.

Dr Chau is collaborative in her approach and works with patients, including their families and carers, to identify goals and applies a best practice model informed by clinical evidence to achieve them. She is committed to providing the resources and knowledge to maintain physical function and quality of life.

Dr Chau provides consultations for:

  • Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment
  • Falls prevention
  • Diagnosis and management of dementia
  • Behavioural management in dementia
  • Medication management
  • Navigating the Aged Care System eg. My Aged Care and ACAT referrals

*For patients: please bring any previous brain scan reports and images if available, prior My Aged Care paperwork or ACAT codes and all the medications the patient is currently taking OR an up to date list.
