Dr Jackie Kerfoot

Dr Jackie Kerfoot is a Palliative Medicine Specialist with 22 years’ experience who lives in the Southern Highlands with her husband and two sons.

She completed her Medical Degree in Wales, UK and her Physician training at The Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick with Specialist Palliative training completed across Greater Sydney Teaching Hospitals with additional experience in Community Aged care and Dementia care at Calvary and St George Hospital Sydney. She gained her Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2006.

She is a Senior Staff Specialist in Palliative Medicine working for South West Sydney Local Health District in Campbelltown and Bowral & District Public Hospitals and the Community sectors of Macarthur, Wollondilly and the Southern Highlands. She has current lead roles in research at Campbelltown Hospital and is passionately involved in education across the district.

She has extensive experience in all aspects of Palliative Care and local services having worked in the Southern Highlands for 13 years. She has strong links with all providers involved in the support of patients including GP’s, community nursing, allied health workers, public, private and charitable supports available in the Highlands, Wollondilly and Macarthur regions.

Dr Kerfoot is passionate about offering the highest standard of assessment to people with life limiting illnesses, ensuring they have excellent symptom control and support at this difficult time.

Dr Kerfoot has expertise in complex pain & symptom management, Aged Care and frailty, the Palliative management of all cancers, advanced renal, respiratory, cardiac and gastrointestinal disorders. She has significant experience in managing symptoms related to advanced Neurodegenerative disease and advanced Dementia.
